Soccer
It doesn’t get much better than this. The HNMCS varsity soccer team is off to a great start winning its first three league games handily, beating John Fraser 5 to 0, Woodlands Secondary School 6 to 0, and Gordon Graydon 9 to 0 as well as defeating Mentor College 5 to 0 in an exhibition game.
As you can see from the scores, the defence has been solid, refusing to concede a single goal. The offense is just as strong, with goals coming from a range of players.
Congratulations to all the exceptional players and the coaches Mr. Watson and Mr. Smith for making it all the way to the playoffs!
Track and Field
The track team trained hard in preparation for the ROPSSAA Championships which took place on May 24 and 25. They competed in hurdling, long jump, triple jump, steeplechase, sprints and the 800m.
They competed in a track meet on April 26 at Centennial Stadium, achieving many top 10 results and high placements in their heats.
Marina Fonseca '20 and Melisa Isado '20 went on to compete at the South Regionals meet where Marina had a top 10 finish and Melisa won bronze, qualifying for OFSAA.
