Literary Artist Among Us
Abigail Blackford’s ’20 poem “Love is like a cold” has made it through the first round of Polar Expressions Publishing’s 12th annual national student poetry competition. It is now among the top three finalists being considered for publication in Polar Expressions’ Inkslide, which will showcase the best poetry from Canadian students in grades 9 through 12. This publication will become part of Library and Archives Canada’s national collection in Ottawa.
Abigail discovered her interest in poetry when she had to write a poem for a grade nine English project.
Here is in excerpt from “Love is like a cold”:
It’s infectious and makes you delirious;
It’ll never age;
it’ll never die;
Sometimes it makes you cry.
Congratulations Abigail!
