The SS Model UN Club had the opportunity to take part in the University of Toronto's Model UN Club's Secondary School Interactive Crisis Simulation (SSICsim) from November 4-6th. Our two delegates, Raquel Opauszky ‘26 & Majella Martin ‘25, not only rose to the challenge but entered as first timers, eager to get their first conference under their belt. Taking part in different committees allowed both delegates to step out of their comfort zones and into the fast-paced world of crisis committees.

Racquel took on the role of Officer Jacques Clouseau in Gotham PD, working with other delegates to solve the many problems which faced the fictitious Gotham City, home of none other than Batman. Majella went back in time to the historical Seven Years War as Haudenosaunee Chief Peter Hendricks and along with her fellow delegates reimagined an alternative perspective of this major world event.

Our delegates put their creative thinking and problem solving skills to the test and came out of every committee meeting with many stories to tell! A wonderful start for Model UN at HNMCS!
