YRE Winning Writer
Congratulations to Gabrielle Michael ’18 for winning third place in the International article category ages 15 to 18 of the Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE) competition. Sponsored by Environmental Defence, YRE gives young people the opportunity to be part of the sustainability solution by producing creative and engaging environmental journalism. Participants investigate and report on local environmental issues and solutions using video, photography or text.
Gabrielle placed first in the Canada competition which earned her entry into the international competition. Claire Trotter ’18 also placed third in the Canada competition.
Gabrielle will receive an International certificate and her work will be published on Huffington Post Kids. Her entry will also be posted on the competition's Exposure page and she was included in the YRE Global Press Release. As noted in the press release, this year, FEE received a total of 178 entries from 30 countries for both the International YRE Competition and for the Litter Less Campaign competition. This is the largest number of entries FEE has ever received. Well done, Gabrielle!
