Class of 2024
Another exciting academic year has come to an end, and with that, the departure of a memorable group of young women, the HNMCS Class of 2024! With over $750,000 in scholarship offers, the Class of 2024 is heading off to a wide range of post-secondary institutions, both within Canada and internationally.
With so many events leading up to Graduation, including a retreat, Legacy Teen Ranch, Senior Sunrise, and Graduation Mass, the Class of 2024 had many opportunities to bond together as a class. While this group is studious and knew just what they needed to do to achieve great things, they also knew how to enjoy themselves at Prom and create meaningful moments together! The Class of 2024 danced the night away at the Mimico Cruising Club, where they laughed, decided who would be the “Most Likely To” and took more photos then any grade before them!
During the Graduation Ceremony, our Valedictorian, outgoing Student Government President Marinella Del Bel Belluz recalled her own journey at HNMCS, even the years online, and expressed gratitude and appreciation for all members of the HNMCS community. She spoke fondly about the quirks that made this class so special and all the ways that they have left their mark on HNMCS.
During the presentation of diplomas, 100% of the graduates were Ontario Scholars (having attained an average of 80% or higher) and 70% of the students received the Marian Award, recognizing their consistent honour roll standing throughout their Senior School years at HNMCS. After the conferring of diplomas, special awards were given, recognizing the many unique gifts of the Class of 2024:
Felician Sisters Justice & Peace Award: Lauren Peralta
Basilian Fathers Catholic Student Award: Isabella Cloutier
Award of Academic Excellence: Emilia Jankowicz
Graduate Student Award of Merit Award: Amy Goddard
The Inspiring Leadership Award: Marinella Del Bel Belluz
Innovation & Entrepreneurship Award: Samantha Stefan
The Governor General of Canada Medal: Emilia Jankowicz

Spirit Award: Julia Martin
HNMCS Arts Award: Jiayu (Vicky) Li
HNMCS Stars Award: Abigail Filippazzo
The Bynoe Family Award: Laila Naworynski
Salutatorian: Qingyang (Leslie) Wang
The wide variety of accomplishments and interests of the members of the Class of 2024 is reflected in their choice of university destinations, with around 30% of the graduates pursuing programmes in the Arts & Humanities and over 65% pursuing STEM related programmes.
