We’re back! What a wonderful way to begin the Christmas season, HNMCS Christmas concert 2022 in person! This year’s theme was “The Angels and The Christmas Star”, and it tells the tale of eight Angels who have been asked by the Angel Gabriel to come together to keep the star of Bethlehem shining bright. It is through music and their joyful spirit that they will work together to keep the star shining brightly in the sky. We followed our eight Angels on a musical journey, reminded that Mother Mary travelled far and wide for the birth of our Lord. The showcase was narrated by the Senior Drama Club and the night was filled with shinning performances from the Middle, Intermediate, Senior School and Liturgical Choirs, he CIS Senior antd Middle School Dance, the Middle School Bands, the Ukrainian Club and a special performance from the California 2022 Pop Choir. The spectacular tableaux were performed by the Grade 7 Drama Class.

The Middle School Choir kicked off the show with “Better When I’m dancing” inviting the audience to get ready for a magical evening! We welcomed our eighth Angels to narrate, keeping the audience captivated and in stiches. The Senior Choir set the tone with a mesmerising performance of “The Angel Gabriel” joined by the Grade 7 Drama class in stunning tableaux of our Lord’s Nativity. The Grade 7 and 8 Music Classes performed “Breath of Heaven'' with Jingya (Daisy) Wang on violin and a stunning modern dance performance by Mariana Attardo, Marinella Del Bel Belluz, Delaney Ferris, Demetra Pappas and Ainsley Rix.

This past September while on a ten day trip to California and endless days of singing, the California 2022 Pop Choir was formed. They could not wait to continue singing Justin Beiber and enjoyed the HNMCS stage performing “Little Drummer Boy”. The Grade 8 Band sounded the trumpets ready for a King performing “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlewomen'' and the Intermediate Choir wowed the audience with their angelic voices and awesome choreography to ABBA’s “Angel Eyes”. The Senior School Choir and Senior Music Class closed the first act off with a stunning “An Angelic Christmas Medley”.

The Intermediate Choir performed a lovely version of “Oh, Come All ye Faithful” full of glorious harmonies. Isabella Cloutier (Clarinet) and the Liturgical Choir brought the room to a quiet standstill with a gorgeous version of “What Child is This” and the Grade 5 and 6 Band closed the show with the entire cast and crew performing “Joy to the World/Ode to Joy”.

The Grade 7 Drama class kept a steady and spellbinding tableaux throughout the evening accompanying many of the musical acts. The audience was in shock that they were real people standing so quietly and still throughout the performances.
