The Greatest Nativity
Peanuts! Popcorn! Did you see the Bearded Lady? Dog Girl? And how tall was that woman? What about the clowns, amazing jugglers, talented middle school dance team and the wonderful ukulele group? This year’s Christmas concert was a culmination of two very different worlds that came together under a circus tent to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas, the “Greatest Show” of all, the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
The powerful senior and intermediate choir joined forces with the fabulous drama department to send a message to look beyond what you see and opened the show with music from the movie The Greatest Showman. The intermediate choir and the grades 7 and 8 brought the Angel Gabriel’s message to Mother Mary with “The Angel Gabriel” and gave us a rousing performance of “This Is Me”. Stars and angels showed up shining bright as the middle school choir sang “A Million Dreams” and welcomed the brassy and very newly formed HNMCS Band performing “Silent Night”. The drama department beautifully performed the Nativity and the liturgical choir and senior school music classes sang a beautiful original work by Ms. DiMauro, “On This Still Night”. The senior choir showcased their vocal talent with some of the most challenging music singing “Hark the Herald” from Pentatonix Christmas Medley. PT Barnum and The Angel closed the show with the Christmas message to trust in God’s love, do not judge, open your hearts to everyone’s uniqueness and be kind to each other. The entire audience was invited to join all HNMCS choirs to end the performance with “O Come All Ye Faithful”. Merry Christmas to all!
