Camp Arowhon
On September 2, the Tuesday after Labour Day, our very brave Grade 7 and 9 students boarded a bus for Camp Arowhon. Many of these students knew no one with whom they were about to spend the next 4 days. This is how we begin the school year in Grades 7 and 9. Camp...

Leaning into Lent
Lent is here. A time for intentional living and self-examination, of preparing our hearts for Easter by connecting and reconnecting with God through praying, pausing, refraining, and giving. How will you participate in the season of Lent over these next 40 days?
This week, each student at HNMCS was given “Lent in a Bag”, a kit that was carefully put together by students in the Spirituality & Justice Council. The bag, which is meant to help students, their parents, and the entire family enter more deeply into this sacred time, contains food for thought: symbols of the season paired with reflection questions as well as ideas for actions to grow your spiritual life each of the 40 days.
Outdoor Education
Winter brings with it a distinct beauty—crisp air, snow-covered landscapes, and a unique opportunity for adventure and learning. While many might associate the need to “get outside” with warmer months, winter provides a distinct setting for outdoor education that offers numerous benefits for students of all ages. From building resilience to fostering creativity, outdoor education in the winter can be both enriching and transformative.

When you add to this the fact that HNMCS Robotics is one of only six all-girls FIRST Robotics teams in Canada, …
